By following these guidelines you will become a better player.  Soon everyone will want to play with you.  Caution, your friend’s list will fill up rapidly.

1.    Get to know your neighbor – It’s almost impossible to know everyone who plays Halo online and so it is important to introduce yourself.  Inform them of your impeccable skill level and how they don’t stand a chance.  This will reduce the feeling of failure at the end of the match.  Also, tell them how you would like to meet their mother and all the nice things you would like to do with her.  It’s also hard to determine the ethnicity of other players and so to avoid making horrible racial slurs ask them politely if they are of a certain ethnicity.

Method: Shout, “You guys suck”, “I’d like to f*&k your mom!”, and, “Are you a ni&#er?” in your microphone during the pre-game lobby in order to make the acquaintance of your new friends.

2.    Teamwork – Your teammates will more than likely not know all the intricacies of Halo and so it is your responsibility to inform and enforce.  Alert them to which items might be better left in your hands.  If they refuse to listen it is your job to enforce teamwork upon them.

Method: Shouting, “I got sniper”, at the beginning of a match may work, but if it does not enforce your position by simply assassinating your teammate.  After all, you’ll get more kills with it, do the math.

3.    A Friendly Greeting – As many will know, it is polite to stop and say “Hi!” to enemy teammates while playing.  This can be distracting while you are in a firefight so it is socially acceptable to do so after you have killed them.  In the same fashion that canines greet each other you must do the same.  However since your new friend is in a prone position it would be nice of you to do the work for him or her.

Method: Move over down friend’s face, crouch so they may greet you.  As this is tiring you may prefer to repeatedly crouch and un-crouch.

4.    Report the Cheaters – While Microsoft and Bungie do an excellent job of banning most cheaters it is still up to you to help report the unwelcome modders.  These players can be observed with the following criteria: A.) They have a high skill level B.)They managed to win the game C.) You keep getting killed by them.

Method: Besides using Microsoft reporting tool you should also inform the cheaters in the post game lobby that you are aware of their actions.  Shout “Cheaters”, “Modders” and any other synonyms of the words into your microphone.
