Post Car Key Remote Antenna Help
Im Hopeing someone can chime in here... Ive been trying to figure this out without much luck

Im trying to increase the range on cars remote, Have to be nearly to the vehicle to unlock the thing... So i cut apart my key and grabbed a bit of coper and started playing around... I was able to get the range to increase about 5-7x but After a bit more research I found out what i thought would have been the antenna is actually the transponder... so back to the drawing board.. It looks like my antenna is in the Circuit board here...

And was hopeing someone could give me some direction on where to go from here... should i sand things down and solder on a wire? I know the length of the wire maters for frequency, but does thickness?

I know I could probably extend the range by increasing the length or position of the antenna in the car, but Ive yet to figure out, how to find out where it is.

here are some pics
pretty sure thats the antenna in the board

See: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2872&p=40926 for a starter course. You may be better off checking the car's receiving antenna. . .
