Welcome to Geek Republic!
Welcome all, to Geek Republic!
I understand that many of you might be taken aback by the sudden change, so let me explain.
Nearly 5 years ago, Team Hack-a-Day was founded as a place for readers of the Hack-a-Day blog to gather and work together as a team for further the goals of Stanford's Folding@Home project. We did quite well and rapidly rose through the ranks, leaving many teams in our path.
As time has passed however, the folding landscape has changed dramatically. As the game changed, many members lost interest and left the project. Following suit, things around here have slowed down over the last few years. While we still wholeheartedly support the Folding@Home project and have quite a few active folders, a handful of us thought it might be time for a bit of change.
From that desire to shake things up, Geek Republic was born. Our goal is to cover everything Geek-related under the sun. We want Geek Republic to be similar to your geeky cube-mate who shows you the coolest new videos, shares the latest tech news, and gives you the best tech tips around. If it's geeky and newsworthy, you will find it here.
We are putting a lot of focus on the
blog portion of the site, but we will still remain active here in the forums as well as in the
chat room.
Kick back and stay awhile - see what Geek Republic has to offer. If you have not visited recently, you might just find that you missed Team Hack-a-Day and that you like our new look even more.
