I wonder when mine will come. (I hope it arrives on my doorstep when my parents aren't home, or I'll have some explaining to do...)

I'm sure it will come soon. I'm guessing that I got mine pretty quickly since there isn't a huge demand. The link Cerb posted is still valid. I don't know if you can make it all the way through the checkout, but if the link is still live, one can assume you could.

I'll have to get my BSD firewall router ready sooner then.

I'm debating whether to go the serial cable route, or use the web interface to hack it.

Fon was nice enough to leave the older 7.0.4 firmware version on there, which means easy hacking.

A disc came with it, but I really don't plan to use it. Are you going to use yours legitimately?

You have to just keep on trying... it took me about 30 tries to get through to the checkout... I ended up just adding a regular "$29.99" router to my cart, and then pasting the promotion code into the section for promotion codes to make it free...

Dr N... I would suggest going the web interface route if you just want it up and running, I went the serial route because I hadn't played around with hardware hacking in a bit... slacking off I am. :D

Post wow thats fast
i jumped on this promo later then you guys. I may or may not get one if supplies runs out. But i'm interested to learn more about how long it takes to modify the firmware and what directions did you follow brownj?

You mentioned going the web interface route. How long does it take and what steps did you follow? Care to give some old school guys some advice before mine ever arrives?

dltv.wordpress.com - DLTV Plans to write a review of hacking the Fon with imgs if he gets one...or if someone beats me to it you can pass along the info.

My original intention was to hope my xbox 360 could be used with this... somehow? or maybe it could be setup as a repeater..because i read here
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/La ... l-Repeater
That the Fon can be used on an exsisting network to repeat the signal which is awsome. I currently have a DI-624 Router and i get spotty signal the way it is upstairs. Can anyone comment on this if they have tried it?
